Born and raised in Saskatchewan , Canada , Vince immigrated to Australia in January 2001. A rider for the past 22 years, he has seen many changes take place in the industry. His riding career began on the flat plains of Canada road racing, pushing into constant prairie headwinds. Moving to Banff , Alberta in the early 90's, he suddenly had to learn to climb. With MTB racing becoming increasing popular, he switched to XC racing for a few seasons before finishing up with a dabble in cyclocross racing.
No longer able to devote time to racing and the training involved, Vince does keep himself in enough tune to keep up with the bunches along the bay or the occasional off road ride. He can be found riding pretty much anything, anywhere, with anybody. His favorite is most probably just a spin down the beach with his wife Nina with a stop at the coffee shop.
At St. Kilda Cycles, Vince manages the workshop and sales. A proficient mechanic, brilliant on product knowledge, Vince will always give helpful advice on riding and maintaining your bike. He has a straightforward approach to bicycle maintenance, relying on years of experience to provide the customer with the best solution. His riding experience will also help you choose which bike and equipment is best suited for your needs, and suggest alternatives whenever possible.
Vince also heads up Saints Fabrication, the manufacturing arm of St. Kilda Cycles. If you are looking for a steel or carbon fiber frame, ask him any question you like. All frames are custom designed and built by him. Heavy touring bikes, commuters, MTB XC and road frames can all be constructed using a variety of materials.

I was born and raised in beautiful Switzerland; where the mountains are white and the grass is green.
People often ask me why i became a bike mechanic? They say “that’s a strange job for a girl”. Well...my dad always had strange ideas for my carreer. In the end i decided to be a bike mechanic and began my apprenticeship when i was 16. After 3 years (yes 3 years) I completed it and began to work in a few bikestores in switzerland.
During the cold winter months i travelled alot of countries including Australia. Ive always had a desire to return to the land down under and that’s why im here. Ive been working for St.Kilda Cycles since a year, and enjoy being a member of the team.
I try to intergrate myself into the Australian culture, so i eat vegimite for breakfast, listen to AC/DC during work, eat my chicken-parma for dinner and watch “The Castle”.

I love all things 2 wheeled, must be to do with leaning into those corners. In my old age I've discovered that rather than just being the "surly" bike mechanic, I actually really enjoy helping people as well as just fixing bikes.
